FINALIST: Aertssen Kranen

Aertssen developed a ground-breaking method of transporting and positioning storage tanks in a Belgian tank farm using SPLIT-SPMT and a customised transport frame with integrated jacking system. This approach eliminated the need for additional lifting equipment, ensured precise placement and overcame space and height constraints.

FINALIST: Hareket Heavy Lifting and Project Transportation Co.

Hareket transported power equipment for the new Turkish 850 MW Kırklareli power plant, including a 449 tonne stator, over a distance of 210 km using SPMTs. The project required meticulous road surveys, route adjustments, bypasses and bridges. Challenges included narrow roads and extreme heat. Safety-focused 3D modelling and reduced road modifications demonstrated Hareket’s expertise and efficiency.

FINALIST: Q3 Group

Q3 managed the onshore logistics of heavy offshore wind equipment over a period of more than 20 months at the marshalling yard in Eemshaven, the Netherlands. The project included yard set-up, custom tool design and SPMT transport. Challenges included tidal dependency and complex road navigation, with innovations such as fixed ro-ro ramps improving efficiency.
