2026 Awards Finalists – Cranes Lattice Boom

FINALIST: Aertssen Lifting

In Ritthem, the Netherlands, Aertssen Lifting assembled the Ostwind offshore wind Jacket structure. Major challenges included synchronizing multiple heavy cranes and managing structural stiffness during lifts. Two Terex SL3800 cranes and one Liebherr LR11350 crane precisely installed a 1,070-tonne substructure and an 842-tonne cable deck under strict safety and operational constraints.

FINALIST: AUTOVICTOR

Autovictor installed a 60-metre, 110-tonne steel bridge deck of Ponte della Gnocca in Borghetto di Borbera, Italy, using a Tadano CC 38.650-1 crawler crane. The major challenges involved in this project included the narrow gorge terrain, the limited access roads, the soft and uneven ground, the complex crane assembly and the need to maintain traffic flow during the operation.

FINALIST: Fratelli Paradiso

In Bari, Italy, on the Bari–Matera railway line, Fratelli Paradiso replaced a historic steel railway bridge dating back to 1915. The major challenges involved operating above active railway lines, the limited space near Bari Scalo station and the long-radius lifts. A Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane was used for safe, high-capacity lifting and precise installation.

FINALIST: Mammoet Netherlands

As part of maintenance activities at ExxonMobil’s Fawley Refinery in the UK, Mammoet supported the exchange of a reactor head in the Fluid Catalytic Cracker (FCC) unit. The company’s FOCUS30 crane replaced the old 356-tonne reactor head with ease, while occupying a space only slightly larger than a five-a-side football pitch.
