2026 Awards Finalists – Telescopic Cranes < 120 t

FINALIST: BKV

In a production plant in Ter Apelkanaal, the Netherlands, the BKV team safely removed installation parts without interrupting the production process. Key challenges included limited space, safety, and maintaining a continuous production process. BKV developed an inventive constructive solution involving Azobé mats, slide tracks, roller systems and two Hoeflon C30 spider cranes.

FINALIST: Friderici Spécial

At the Z’Mutt dam above Zermatt, Switzerland, Friderici supported debris removal after severe storms filled the reservoir with rocks and wood. Two cranes operated on the dam crest over 90 m above the water with minimal outrigger space. Major challenges included alpine weather down to –20 °C, 24/7 operations, and maintaining strict safety conditions.

FINALIST: Mammoet Belgium

Upgrading large equipment in a refinery in Antwerp, Belgium required removing and installing modules in a heavily congested process area obstructed by newer structures. Mammoet addressed the challenge using Move3D modelling to create a virtual replica of the site, enabling precise lift planning, safe access and efficient execution within tight spatial constraints.

FINALIST: SENN AG

Overhauling the hydroelectric power plant in Luterbach, Switzerland presented SENN AG with challenging logistical and technical tasks. A 20-tonne generator with a diameter of 3.5 meters and a 3.4-metre turbine wheel had to be removed, transported, and reinstalled. The difficult access routes and confined roof opening required millimeter-precise crane handling, special steel frames and bespoke heavy transport solutions.
