2026 Awards Finalists – Abnormal Transport < 120 t

FINALIST: Collett & Sons

Collett & Sons transported 441 wind turbine components, including blades, nacelles, towers and hubs, for 49 turbines at North Kyle Wind Farm in East Ayrshire, Scotland. The operation overcame complex public-road routes, winter weather and site access constraints through detailed planning, phased scheduling and stakeholder coordination, delivering all components safely and on programme.

FINALIST: Friderici Spécial

In April 2025, Friderici Spécial transported two 28.6-meter water recovery tanks from Neuried in southern Germany to Stäfa in Switzerland. The route via France was chosen due to customs procedures. The major challenges included complex route constraints and extremely tight final access. To navigate the final critical curves, engineers developed a special convoy with an extended rear overhang.

FINALIST: OL-TRANS

In cooperation with Liburnia Poland, OL-TRANS completed the transport of 15 wind turbine blades, each measuring 77 metres in length, in five convoys from the Port of Gdańsk to Ukraine. This 1,150 km operation required meticulous planning and precise execution, as well as coordination in conditions of elevated risk due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

FINALIST: Yilnak

Yilnak transported 10 sets of E-138 wind turbine components for the Adıyaman Wind Farm over a 1,350 km route from western Turkey to Adıyaman in Eastern Turkey. Major challenges included extreme terrain, including a 40 km “no road” section. Engineering surveys of 3,000 structures enabled 220+ safe transport movements.
