The ESTA Crane Experts working group brings together experienced specialists from the mobile crane industry to address technical issues related to the use, inspection and maintenance of mobile cranes. As these areas are not fully covered by the European mobile crane standard EN 13000, they can create practical challenges for crane users across Europe.
The group conducts research on relevant topics, consults with third-party specialists and industry stakeholders, and develops practical guidance in the form of ESTA Best Practice Guides. Depending on the subject, project teams may include crane manufacturers, users, component suppliers, and maintenance experts. Recent topics include winch gearbox inspections, AdBlue systems and crane tyres, while guidance on the inspection and maintenance of sheave assemblies is currently being developed.
