Complete the ESTA Safety Survey today – your input matters

ESTA has launched an online safety survey and is appealing to its members, supporters and the wider industry to complete it by the end of November to help us better understand the needs and challenges across Europe’s heavy transport and lifting industry.

The survey has been created by ESTA’s permanent Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Commission as it collects detailed information about the industry’s current safety performance and develops strategies for improvement.

The HSE Commission is led by Section Transport President and Kässbohrer Executive Board Member Iffet Türken, and was created in 2023.

Launching the survey, Iffet Türken said: “Safety isn’t just about rules, checklists or equipment. It’s about culture, about what we see, share and improve together.

“We are calling on companies, associations and professionals – from crane operators to senior management – to take part and help shape a safer future for everyone in our sector.”

The online survey was successfully trialled during ESTA’s recent joint crane and transport meeting in Copenhagen. Answers are confidential and it takes roughly 15 minutes to complete.

The survey will also test the industry’s reaction to ESTA’s recently announced proposal to create an airline-style system to anonymously share incident and safety data.

Such information could be collected by ESTA in its role as an independent European body and used anonymously to develop benchmark safety best practices and processes which will be circulated to participating organisations.
