Qualified mobile crane operators – such as ECOL licence holders – are being invited to enter the mobile crane operator European championships being held in Helsinki, Finland, in August, and give themselves the chance of winning a week-long trip to the Conexpo trade fair in Las Vegas.
Called the Golden Crane Competition, it is being organised by the Confederation of Finnish Construction Industries (RT Vehicle Crane Section) in conjunction with the MAXPO trade fair at Hyvinkää airfield on August 29-30.
Each operator’s skills will be tested on two separate courses and with two different mobile cranes – capacity class between 70-130tn – the combined results of which will determine the outcome.
The grand prize is a week-long trip with ESTA’s Finnish member association INFRA
Group to the Conexpo trade fair in Las Vegas in March 2026, including flights and accommodation.
Each of the top three entrants will also receive a special trophy – and of course will also have the right to brag about their achievement!
To take part, operators will need to hold either a current European Crane Operators Licence (ECOL), or an appropriate licence from a national organisation.
