A milestone in European industry cooperation
Today marks a historic milestone for ESTA: 50 years ago, on 26 May 1976, the official founding charter was signed in Paris, establishing the European association for the heavy transport and mobile crane industry.
What began as a shared initiative by national associations from Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland has grown into the leading European voice for the heavy transport and lifting sector, representing members and partners across 27 countries.
For five decades, ESTA has played a central role in promoting safety, harmonisation, technical progress, professionalism, and cross-border cooperation within our industry. From regulatory advocacy and technical guidance to training initiatives and industry events, ESTA has continuously evolved alongside the sector it represents.
As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we also look firmly to the future. ESTA’s 50^(th) anniversary is a time not only to reflect on our history, but also to seize the opportunity to shape the next chapter of innovation, collaboration and industry excellence.
