Pia Metsola of Finnish crane association INFRA has stepped down from ESTA and the European Crane Operators Licence expert committee.
A popular and knowledgeable figure in the crane industry, she worked with ESTA and ECOL for eight years and chaired INFRA from 2012 until 2020. Metsola decided to resign after selling her crane company Kaakon Nostot OY in May this year. She has worked in the crane business for almost 40 years.
Her successor in both ESTA and ECOL will be Toni Kohtamäki from the company Craplan OY. Kohtamäki will be the first ECOL expert committee members to be an ECOL-qualified crane operator.
