ESTA has appointed leading Spanish heavy lift and abnormal transport expert Miguel Florez de la Colina to the newly created position of Policy Officer as the organisation gears up for the next stage in its development.
Currently the head of Madrid-based Siladen Solutions, Miguel Florez de la Colina previously worked for Mammoet for over 15 years. He is due to join the ESTA administration in March next year.
Siladen Solutions has worked in Spain for Wagenborg Towage, Roll-Lift and Hareket.
A fluent English and French speaker, Miguel also teaches part-time in the construction department of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, a position he has held since 2007.
His appointment was confirmed by ESTA’s ruling General Assembly Autumn meeting in Istanbul at the end of October.
Speaking afterwards, he said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining ESTA, an organisation whose aims and philosophies I wholeheartedly support, and I look forward to doing all I can to support the membership.”
ESTA Director Ton Klijn added: “Miguel’s knowledge and commitment will be a huge boost to ESTA and to our capacity to support our growing number of members and projects.
“I have personally known Miguel for many years and I am very pleased that he has agreed to join us. I am looking forward enormously to working with him once more.”
