Transportes y Grúas Aguado: ESTA’s special member from Spain

ESTA is delighted to welcome Madrid-headquartered Transportes y Grúas Aguado as a new Special Member from Spain.

A family company with almost five hundred employees, it was started in 1982, initially working mostly in and around Madrid before expanding in Malaga and Algeciras and later more widely across the whole country with the offices in Soria, Pamplona and Bilbao.

Today, the company works throughout Europe – mainly in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and France – and also in Mexico, Colombia, Perú, Chile and South Africa. It runs a fleet of around 180 cranes along with 60 lines of SPMTs and conventional and special transport equipment plus a heavy load railway wagon.

Transportes y Grúas Aguado has built specialist expertise in the wind industry. The company’s Wind Academy is a training provider certified by GWO, the Global Wind Organisation and it has invested in Haizea Wind, an industrial group focussing on the design, manufacture and assembly of large structures for wind turbines.

ESTA Director Ton Klijn said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Transportes y Grúas Aguado from Spain into the ESTA family. We look forward to working with them in making our European industry safer and more efficient, and when required to helping and supporting them whenever we are able.”

For more information on the company’s history and development, KHL’s International Cranes and Specialized Transport magazine published a well-received feature and interview with Mario Aguado, Managing Director of Aguado’s Wind Services business and one of three brothers running the company set up by his parents.
