Kässbohrer Executive Board Member Iffet Türken has been elected as President of ESTA’s Section Transport, succeeding André Friderici who is stepping down after more than a decade at the helm.
Friderici, who is technical director of Swiss heavy transport and lifting company Friderici Spécial, is to stay on the ESTA Board in Turken’s previous role as Vice President to assist in the transition.
Türken was elected unanimously at ESTA’s General Assembly meeting in Rome on October 20. She has worked for Kässbohrer – one of Europe’s largest semi-trailer producers – for more than 13 years and is the first woman to be elected to one of ESTA’s most senior positions.
ESTA’s Rome meeting also appointed a new treasurer. Rainer Sasse, CEO of Luxtrailers SARL and already an ESTA Board member. He takes over from Jens Enggaard, CEO of Denmark’s BMS Group.
Enggaard will retain his seat on the ESTA Board as Vice President of the Section Cranes. In the same meeting, Stijn Sarens was re-elected to his position as ESTA Secretary.
