FINALIST: Fagioli S.p.A

The SPMT transport of a 507-tonne turbine and a 378-tonne generator from the port to the new Komotini power station was a challenge of the highest order. Fagioli’s team reinforced several bridges and built bypasses along the 67-kilometre route which required great skills from the SPMT operators on gradients of up to 14% and narrow local roads.

FINALIST: Hareket Heavy Lifting and Project Transportation Co.

Hareket has completed the largest and heaviest transport project in Turkey to date: the loading of an 11,350 tonne ship from the shipyard onto a floating dock. This was a masterpiece of SPMT transport, using 384 axle lines and 9 power packs, with several challenges such as  assembling the trailer combinations and manoeuvring the 220 metre long vessel in the narrow yard.

FINALIST: Sarens N.V.

The construction of a new metro station required relocation of the famous Monument of the Combatants of Haute-Garron in Toulouse. The Sarens team took up the challenge, as the 1,676 tonne but fragile monument stood directly above a metro tunnel in the middle of the busy and cramped city center.
