Italian Minister of Infrastructure and Transport and Deputy Prime Minister, Matteo Salvini, last week received ESTA President and CEO of Fagioli, Fabio Belli, and the Vice President of ANNA, as well as Director of the Exceptional Transport Division of Fagioli, Moreno Massetti.
The meeting with Matteo Salvini was a follow-up to the meeting organised by ANNA and ESTA at the end of October which focused on the challenges faced by heavy transport and lifting companies in Italy including licensing, the technical state of infrastructure and the training structure for professionals in the sector. The October meeting was attended by Italian representatives from a wide range of regulatory bodies and police officials.
At last week’s meeting, the rules on abnormal road transport and licensing conditions were discussed in more detail. ESTA and ANNA see this as an important next step in our associations engaging with the relevant institutions regarding these major issues.
